Una filtración de Wikileaks, causa de la dimisión del director de Al Jazeera ex CIA

La influyente cadena de televisión por satélite Al Yasira ha confirmado ladimisión de su director de noticias, Wadah Khanfar, y su sustitución por un gris empresario perteneciente a la familia real de Qatar. La salida de Khanfar se produce poco después de que trascendiera un cable filtrado por «Wikileaks», en el que se da a entender que Khanfar se plegó a presiones del gobierno norteamericano en la cobertura de la guerra de Irak en octubre de 2005.

La interpretación de «the New York Times» contrasta con la del rotativo británico «The Guardian», para el que la salida del periodista palestino Khanfar —uno de los creadores del enorme poder mediático de «Al Yasira» como jefe de informativos desde hace ocho años— se debe a la presión de los propietarios, la familia real del pequeño estado petrolífero de Qatar. Para el entorno del emir, Khanfar habría obtenido últimamente demasiado poder y autonomía, por lo que «se hizo necesaria su sustitución».

Contradicciones

Sea cual sea la versión más correcta, el cambio pone en entredicho lareputación de Al Yasira como el único canal por satélite independiente del mundo árabe, en un contexto de televisiones públicas completamente controladas por el régimen político de turno.

Los observadores del «fenómeno Al Yasira» venían, no obstante, apuntando desde hace tiempo las contradicciones de este canal, que se ha forjado fama de «neutralidad» en la cobertura de Oriente Próximo y de «agresividad» frente a la política de Estados Unidos en la región.

Se subrayaba en particular el enorme despliegue de medios para cubrir la ofensiva rebelde en Libia contra el régimen de Gadafi, en contraste con la parquedad y sombras en la información de la revuelta en Bahréin. El régimen de Qatar se movilizó públicamente contra la dictadura libia, pero guardó silencio cuando la revuelta chií estuvo a punto de derribar a la minoría suní que gobierna en la isla vecina.

STOP US WARS AROUND THE WORLD - What can we do?

The words that former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara recently used concerning the war that he promoted in Vietnam can be applied to all of our interventionist military adventures:

"We were wrong, terribly wrong."

McNamara didn't appreciate the advice offered by another Marine Corps Medal of Honor recipient, General David Shoup, and had him removed as Commandant.

    General Shoup said: I believe that if we had, and would, keep our dirty, bloody, dollar soaked fingers out of the business of these (third World) nations, so full of depressed, exploited people, they will arrive at a solution of their own. And if unfortunately their revolution must be of the violent type, because the 'haves' refuse to share with the 'have nots' by any peaceful method, at least what they get will be their own, and not American style, which they don't want and, above all, don't want crammed down their throats by Americans."

    Years ago, General Butler said: "Looking back, Woodrow Wilson was re-elected President in 1916 on a platform he had "kept us out of war." Yet, five months later he asked Congress to declare war on Germany. . . What caused our government to change its mind so suddenly? MONEY."

What can we do to stop the madness? First, fight recruiting and the coming draft. Studies for the Army show parents are the top obstacles to recruiting. "Opposition to . . . military service is increasing significantly among both moms and dads," says a study of 1,200 potential recruits by the firm Millward Brown. Another look at potential recruits, by GfK Custom Research, found that the biggest influences in candidates' decisions to join were mothers, named by 81% of respondents, followed by fathers, at 70%. "Reach the parents with the Army's new message, particularly moms," the study urges. But General Butler had another message.

    Smedley Butler said: "The government declares war. To say helplessly: As individuals we have nothing to do with it, we can't prevent it. But WHO ARE WE? Well, WE right now are the mothers and fathers of every able-bodied boy of military age in the United States. "WE" are also you young men of voting age and over, that they'll use for cannon fodder. And "WE" can prevent it. Now--you MOTHERS particularly. The only way you can resist all this war hysteria and beating tomtoms is by hanging on to the love you bear your boys. When you listen to some well-worded, well-delivered war speech, just remember that it's nothing but Sound. It's your boy that matters. And no amount of sound can make up to you for the loss of your boy."

It's important to end the current involvement, and even more important to prevent future ones. The war racket has been able to flourish and expand, for the benefit of corporations and not for the people, because our governmental leaders and representatives are not sufficiently constrained by the Constitution in its present form.

    Smedley Butler said: "If we really want to make it impossible to have our young men sent abroad to fight the wars of others, then let us by all means insist upon adding the Peace Amendment to the Constitution of the United States."

The ongoing war in Iraq is a poster child for war is a racket for all of the reasons previously covered. Let's make sure that we end it and don't go there again. Our principal overseas bases in Germany and Korea are anachronisms which should have been shuttered long ago. Germany's standard of living is higher than ours and South Korea doesn't need us to defend their Hyundai and Kia auto export plants. And we need to recall the secret, provocative military units now operating under Presidential order in various countries around the world.

We must change our national military

policy

from one which makes us the last imperial empire in the world to one which restores us to the family of nations who enjoy peace and prosperity. We'd be in accordance with the US National Defense Strategy, which states: "The United States and its allies and partners have a strong interest in protecting the sovereignty of nation states. In the secure international order that we seek, states must be able to effectively govern themselves and order their affairs as their citizens see fit. Nevertheless, they must exercise their sovereignty responsibly, in conformity with the customary principles of international law, as well as with any additional obligations that they have freely accepted. It is unacceptable for regimes to use the principle of sovereignty as a shield behind which they claim to be free to engage in activities that pose enormous threats to their citizens, neighbors, or the rest of the international community."

The

US Constitution

has no provision for foreign military adventures. It provides only "for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions."

We'd also be in accordance with the United Nations Charter, which disallows aggression.

    Chapter I, Article 2 of the United Nations Charter: All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.

We need to put the priority back on the people rather than on war-racket profits. It would make us more secure by strengthening our domestic base, heartening our people and making us less disliked abroad.

    Smedley Butler said: "The United States is in no danger whatever of military invasion. Even the Navy and War Departments, which are always preparing for war, and the State Department, which is always talking about peace but thinking about war, agree on that. By reason of our geographical position, it is all but impossible for any foreign power to muster, transport and land sufficient troops on our shores for a successful invasion."

We can do it and we will!

Angolana Leila Lopes é Miss Universo 2011 – A carga da beleza angolana no mundo (c/ fotos)

Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, coroada Miss Universo, em São Paulo, a 12 de Setembro de 2011. “Sozinha não sou capaz de mudar o mundo, mas tenho a certeza que posso ajudar. A nova Miss Universo afirma que vai usar a “coroa” para ajudar Angola.

Leila Lopes, de 25 anos de idade, foi coroada Miss Universo, em São Paulo, Brasil.  “Bateu” 88 outras participantes para se tornar na primeira angolana a ganhar o cobiçado título de beleza.

Após a vitória, na noite de segunda-feira, Leila disse que como Miss Angola já estava a ajudar o seu país, dando como exemplos ajudar as crianças pobres, os idosos e as pessoas infectadas com o VIH, o vírus da SIDA. Acrescentou que tenta fazer tudo para ajudar às necessidades de Angola, e que como Miss Universo poderá fazer ainda muito mais.

"A minha beleza vai ajudar a todos. Vou lutar contra a SIDA, porque este é o principal projeto em Angola", afirmou a Miss, em declarações publicadas pelo portal de Internet "IG".

Primeira angolana a chegar à final do concurso, Leila Lopes contou que ficou muito ansiosa quando passou para a última etapa, na qual são escolhidas apenas cinco modelos de todo o mundo.

"Angola, muito obrigada por me ter apoiado, acreditado em mim, eu vi as mensagens no Facebook. As pessoas ligavam-me e diziam que havia notícias minhas nos jornais", contou, após ter vencido o concurso.

Leila Lopes atribuiu ao seu sorriso o motivo da vitória, realçando que os seus amigos dizem que quando sorri a sua alegria contagia as pessoas e foi isso que procurou fazer durante a competição.

"Tentei ser a pessoa mais alegre, independentemente de ter problemas. Acho que consegui transparecer isso", declarou.

Leila sucede a Miss Universo 2010, a mexicana Ximena Navarette.

Após a coroação, respondendo a perguntas dos jornalistas, Leila afirmou nunca se ter submetido a cirurgia estética. As suas três dicas de beleza: Dormir muito, usar protector solar mesmo quando não há sol, e beber muita água. Afirmou que o seu sorriso foi a melhor arma no concurso.

Questionada sobre racismo pelo facto de ser uma das poucas negras coroadas Miss Universo, Leila respondeu: “qualquer racista necessita de procurar ajuda. Não é normal no século XXI pensar dessa forma.”

Leila respondeu com destreza à última pergunta feita às cinco concorrentes finalistas. Perguntaram-lhe que traço físico mudaria se pudesse. Respondeu: “Estou satisfeita com a forma como Deus me criou e não mudaria uma única coisa. Considero-me como uma pessoa com uma beleza interior. A minha família deu-me bons princípios e tenciono segui-los pelo resto da minha vida.”

A Miss Ucrânia, Olesia Stefanko, ficou em segundo assumindo o título de primeira-dama de honor, o que significa que assumirá o título de Miss Universo caso Leila Lopes fique impossibilitada de cumprir com as suas obrigações. A brasileira Priscila Machado foi escolhida para segunda dama de honor, seguida da Miss Filipinas, Shamcey Supsup e de Miss China, ZiLin Luo.

Quais são os seus ícones no mundo da moda? Porquê?
Leila Lopes.: Naomi Campbell pela persistência e determinação, pois não deve ter sido fácil alcançar o êxito que é reconhecido até hoje sendo negra! Admiro-a também pela sua beleza e elegância dentro e fora das passerelles.

L.L.: Nos angolanos admiro o orgulho que o povo demonstra em ser angolano, da força, esperança e da alegria de viver.
Já nos ingleses gosto da organização e do ensino que é um dos melhores do mundo.
Viveu quantos anos em Londres? Que o curso que está a seguir?
L.L.: Vivi 4 anos em Londres e estou a estudar Gestão de Empresas.

Como está a ser o lado profissional depois de eleita?
L.L.: O lado profissional vai muito bem graças a Deus. O Comité não só valoriza o talento da Miss como também cria diversos projectos sociais e ainda assim apoia outros projectos apresentados pela Miss. De uma forma geral posso dizer que entre o Comité e a Miss existe um grande intercâmbio de ideias para projectos sociais pois ambas as partes trabalham para minimizar as necessidades dos mais carentes.

Qual é a rotina que tem que cumprir como Miss Angola? A que horas começa o dia e como é que acaba?
L.L.: Depende muito das minhas actividades, geralmente quando vou fazer alguma actividade fora da cidade, o meu dia começa bem cedo por volta das 7 horas da manhã e termina às 16 horas. Mas quando as actividades são na cidade começo por volta das 9 horas e acaba geralmente mais tarde pois há mais lugares para visitar, reuniões etc.
Quais são as grandes diferenças entre o antes e depois de ser eleita Miss Angola?
L.L.: A maior é com certeza o aumento das responsabilidades. Hoje sinto que em tão pouco tempo amadureci bastante. Conhecer o outro lado do povo angolano fez-me aprender a ver a vida com outros olhos, confesso que estou mais sensível pois tenho visto o que é a pobreza no seu extremo, o que é de partir o coração, mas são essas grandes diferenças que me fortalecem que me dão ideias para junto com o Comité arranjar uma forma de tentar suprir tais dificuldades.

Em tempos participou num evento na África do Sul em homenagem a Nelson Mandela, em que representava uma musa. Fale-nos dessa experiência?
L.L.: Foi o maior e mais bonito evento de moda que já vi e o meu primeiro desfile internacional. Foi uma experiência maravilhosa, primeiro por ter sido em homenagem ao grande Nelson Mandela e segundo por ter desfilado com uma peça de David Tlale que na minha opinião é o melhor estilista africano da actualidade. Foi um desfile rico com 92 modelos vestidas com peças que retratavam os 92 anos de vida de Nelson Mandela. É sem dúvida histórico pois foi a primeira vez que um estilista usou um monumento (Mandelas’bridge) na África do sul.

Em tão pouco tempo, já foi nomeada a Miss Reino Unido e Miss Angola. O que é que os angolanos podem esperar da sua participação no Miss Universo?
L.L.: Pois é, tem sido tudo muito rápido. Os angolanos podem apostar e torcer bastante pois tenho a certeza de que hei-de saber representar o País condignamente.

O que sente quando está em palco?
L.L.: Primeiro dá um frio na barriga, mas depois é uma sensação de “poder” e boa disposição que parece até que nasci para tal.
O que é a moda para si?
L.L.: Penso que é a tendência que cada indivíduo adopta numa determinada sociedade, quer seja na forma de se vestir, falar, dançar, etc.
Continua a fazer o que fazia antes de ser Miss?
L.L.: Não tenho feito muito do que fazia antes, pois não há tempo.

Tem-se falado muito sobre a sua descendência. Quer comentar?

L.L.: Infelizmente muitas informações que são publicadas não têm o mínimo senso. Entre elas a minha descendência. Não tenho absolutamente nada de cabo-verdiano, sou 100 por cento angolana, filha, neta e bisneta de angolanos.

Pode deixar uma mensagem às angolanas que não acreditam que um dia podem chegar a Miss?
L.L.: Se é isso que realmente querem é muito importante que sejam bastante perseverantes pois é um concurso bastante competitivo, onde todas querem ganhar mas apenas uma pode. Por isso aconselho a todas as raparigas que pensam em participar a empenharem-se bastante nos estudos pois acredito que a inteligência é um dos maiores trunfos que uma candidata deve apresentar.

Thomas Steitz, Nobel de Química: A indústria farmacêutica não quer que povo se cure

medicamentos_doentes_eternos O prêmio Nobel de Química 2009, o americano Thomas Steitz, denunciou nesta sexta-feira em Madri o fato de que os laboratórios farmacêuticos não pesquisam antibióticos efetivos e acrescentou que "não querem que o povo se cure".

"Preferem centrar o negócio em remédios que deverão ser tomados durante 'toda a vida'", afirmou Steitz, que opina que "muitas das grandes farmacêuticas fecharam suas pesquisas sobre antibióticos porque estes curam as pessoas.

Pesquisador do Instituto Médico Howard Hughes da Universidade americano de Yale, Steitz assiste em Madri ao Congresso Internacional de Cristalografia (estudo da estrutura ordenada dos átomos nos cristais da natureza).

No caso da tuberculose, Steitz analisou o funcionamento que deveria seguir um novo antibiótico para combater cepas resistentes à doença que surgem, sobretudo, no sul da África.

O cientista comentou em entrevista coletiva que o desenvolvimento deste remédio exige um grande investimento e a colaboração de um laboratório farmacêutico para avançar na pesquisa.

"É muito difícil encontrar um que queira trabalhar conosco, porque para estas empresas vender antibióticos em países como a África do Sul não gera dinheiro e preferem investir em remédios para toda a vida".

Por enquanto, segundo Steitz, estes novos antibióticos são "só um sonho, uma esperança, até que alguém esteja disposto a financiar o trabalho".

Steitz e os espanhóis Enrique Gutiérrez-Puebla e Martín M. Ripoll, do Conselho Superior de Pesquisas Científicas (CSIC), pediram nesta sexta-feira aos países para que invistam mais em ciência. Os cientistas acreditam que a resistência das bactérias aos antibióticos será necessária continuar pesquisando "indefinidamente". EFE

DECLARACIÓN DEL COMITÉ EJECUTIVO DEL PCPE ANTE LA AGRESIÓN IMPERIALISTA CONTRA LIBIA

Ante la cadena de sucesos que acontecen en la República Árabe Libia con el avance de las fuerzas cipayas de la OTAN hasta la misma Trípoli y los permanentes crímenes de guerra y matanzas indiscriminadas contra la población civil , el Partido Comunista de los Pueblos de España denuncia:

1. El carácter imperialista de la intervención en Libia.

Los supuestos rebeldes, los bombardeos humanitarios de la OTAN, la intervención directa de grupos de élite de los ejércitos de la OTAN vulnerando su resolución 1973 del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU, la propaganda de guerra distribuida por los medios de masas y el papel legitimador de la intervención de diversos agentes políticos y sociales, forman parte de la misma hoja de ruta del imperialismo destinada a sustituir la República Árabe por un gobierno pro-occidental en la OPEP y en el Mediterráneo que suministre energía muy barata a las decadentes economías imperialistas. En su infinita hipocresía, los gobiernos imperialistas y sus lacayos árabes, no han dudado un instante en vulnerar sus propias resoluciones, facilitando ingentes suministros militares y hasta participando con fuerzas especiales en la guerra.

2. Los crímenes de guerra de la OTAN y sus tropas mercenarias.

Al margen de la propaganda de guerra, y gracias a medios independientes de los grandes monopolios de la información, se ha conocido de innumerables bombardeos de hospitales, escuelas, infraestructuras civiles y zonas residenciales por parte de los ejércitos de la OTAN. Igualmente se ha conocido de las torturas, ejecuciones sumarias, y crímenes raciales y sexuales por parte de las tropas mercenarias de la OTAN, con el único fin de quebrar la resistencia y voluntad de lucha del pueblo libio.

3. El carácter imperialista de las instituciones internacionales y sus leyes.

La ONU y su Consejo de Seguridad, el Tribunal Penal internacional y el cuerpo legal sobre el que se sustenta, sólo sirven a los intereses del imperialismo, justifican sus guerras de saqueo y rapiña y legitiman cualquier crimen, a la vez que proscriben cualquier gobierno o movimiento popular que no se somete a los designios imperiales.

4. El papel de España como cómplice y ejecutor de crímenes de guerra.

El Reino de España es responsable directo de la criminal agresión contra Libia, ha facilitado medios militares, propagandísticos y financieros a la agresión, a la vez que ha manifestado su apoyo político y financiero a los mercenarios libios a cambio de que los monopolios españoles puedan participar en el futuro saqueo de los recursos energéticos del país. Nuevamente, el gobierno español de turno se pone al servicio de la oligarquía, defendiendo sus intereses por encima de cualquier otra consideración.

5. El papel del reformismo y el oportunismo como justificadores de la agresión imperialista.

Desde el mismo inicio de las operaciones militares de la denominada “oposición”, sectores y organizaciones políticas de nuestro país, encuadradas en el reformismo y en posiciones de ultraizquierda, han planteado una posición tibia frente a la estrategia imperialista, cuando no justificadora de la misma. La asunción, por parte de organizaciones que se denominan comunistas o anticapitalistas, de posiciones intermedias más o menos cubiertas de retórica antiimperialista, favorece a las potencias agresoras, las justifica y ayuda a incrementar la confusión entre la clase obrera y los sectores populares.

6. El estado de guerra permanente contra los pueblos al que el imperialismo nos pretende someter.

El capitalismo, en su senil fase imperialista, requiere de la guerra para apropiarse de cuantos recursos necesite, su voracidad no tiene límites y solo puede conducir a la extinción de la humanidad. Después de llevar la muerte a todos los rincones del mundo como Afganistán, Irak, Líbano o Honduras, el imperialismo ataca Libia, y tiene su mirada puesta sobre los pueblos de Siria, Cuba, Irán, Venezuela o Bolivia. Es una guerra global y total contra los pueblos.

Ante esto, el PCPE no puede tener otra posición que su frontal oposición a toda forma de intervención y guerra que tenga como objetivo someter y expoliar a los pueblos, por ello el PCPE manifiesta:

1. Que ni el alzamiento militar contra el Gobierno Libio, ni cualquier régimen que surja de este acto de guerra, tiene ninguna legitimidad, en ningún caso responde a los intereses ni voluntad del pueblo libio, solo corresponde a los intereses del imperialismo de los EEUU y la UE.

2. Reiteramos nuestro compromiso en defensa de los pueblos. Nuestra oposición a cualquier acto de guerra de saqueo e injerencia, más aún si las agresiones se dirigen contra aquellos pueblos que se mantienen firmes en defensa de su independencia, no es una simple manifestación formal, sino que se basa en los principios del internacionalismo proletario.

3. Llamamos al conjunto de fuerzas antiimperialistas del mundo a aumentar los esfuerzos para la construcción de un Frente Mundial Antiimperialista, en defensa de la humanidad, por la paz y el progreso.

4. Es imprescindible hoy para los pueblos de Europa coordinar y multiplicar las luchas contra la OTAN. La coordinación de los Partidos Comunistas y Obreros en Europa es un paso fundamental para la articulación de una respuesta contundente que nos permita superar la UE y la OTAN, estructuras creadas solo para defender los intereses del capitalismo.

5. El PCPE reitera que hoy no caben posiciones ambiguas, sólo desde la frontal oposición al imperialismo, a sus estructuras políticas y militares, solo desde la frontal oposición a las políticas guerreristas del imperialismo, podremos superar el capitalismo. Ni la OTAN ni la UE son reformables, ni el capitalismo es humanizable.

Hoy se está escribiendo una nueva página de la infamia del capitalismo, quienes alientan, apoyan o excusan la barbarie deberán responder ante sus pueblos. Mañana los misiles pueden caer sobre Damasco, Caracas o Teherán, solo la acción decidida, la movilización permanente por la paz, contra el imperialismo y el capitalismo detendrá la barbarie.

¡Contra la barbarie y la guerra, por la paz y el progreso!

¡Ni OTAN ni UE, avancemos hacia el Socialismo!

Africa is facing a criminal imperialist invasion of Libya, led by the foremost neo colonialist in Africa, the United States, and organized under the US Africa Command (Africom) and a 28 European nation military alliance, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This invasion is a desperate attempt to slow down the inevitable and rapidly approaching collapse of the American economy with its increasingly frequent economic crisis, recessions, and uncontrollable debt of $14.3 trillion dollars; which they can never pay.

This eminent collapse can be seen when we contrast the 1950’s and the anti communist House Committee on Un-American Activities mandated under Public Law 601 during the McCarthy era and “Red Scare,” in which America arrested and destroyed its own settler colonial citizens for being labeled communist affiliated and attempted to militarily overthrow foreign governments like the US embargoe of China in 1950 under the Trading with the Enemy Act. These policies contrast sharply from today in 2011, with America’s largest creditor being the Communist Party of China, which America owes nearly two trillion dollars (US Department of Treasury, 2011) and seeks to borrow more money and go into further debt; with China dominating the balance of trade between the two countries leading with $182.965 billion to America’s $49.553 billion from January to June of 2011 (US Census Bureau, Foreign Trade) .

According to the World Fact Book, 28 NATO countries owe foreign debts of a massive $48.74 trillion dollars, while 53 African Union Countries owe merely $338 billion dollars (World Development Indicators, World Bank). From this we can discover the economic motive of NATO is to break through Libyan security and capture its massive oil resources to fuel its invasion of Africa in order to accelerate the robbery and exploitation of Africa by military means to alleviate their overwhelming debt, while crushing Libya’s major moves for African economic independence. America has calculated this as the only way to forestall China’s influence and economic domination over them, block Chinese competition in Africa for resources, and to inject wealth into their economy which is like murdering an innocent healthy person to take their blood and inject it into a dying corpse. This is the new phase of neo-colonialism.

Action with thought

Africans worldwide must now mobilize and organize to confront and defeat America’s invasion of Libya at this historic point in history to accelerate Africa’s liberation, economic independence, and unity. We are calling on all Africans in every country in Africa and throughout the African world to confront American imperialism with demonstrations and “positive action” at every U.S. embassy in the world as a demonstration of power and unity on the 102nd birthday of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, the greatest African of the 20th century; the day is 21st September 2011. Osagyefo spent time in England and discovered its weak economy following World War II, then planned a political strategy with an economic offensive of boycotts, strikes, and demonstrations, “positive action,” to cripple England and win independence for Ghana on 6th March 1957. Today America’s economy is weak and in the spirit of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, we are calling on Africans to demonstrate, strike, and boycott, on 21st September 2011, in solidarity with Libya’s armed resistance, to win total independence for Africa.

We are also calling on the African Union to break all military pacts with NATO countries. We are calling on all Africans to “confiscate all assets” of NATO countries. We appeal to all the governments of the world that are against US/NATO hegemony, murder and pillage, to heed to the demand of the masses and apply economic sanctions on America and NATO countries to put a stop their madness. This can be done by in blocks like the African Union, Non Aligned Movement, Group of 77, Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Latin America, The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and other regional and international groupings. Power comes from the organized working masses of the people and their labor, not the capitalist class and their dependence on disorganizing and exploiting the working masses labor for profit to maintain power.

Africa at a crossroad

Today Africa is at a crossroads facing, on the one hand, America’s Africa Command and US/NATO military occupation to further entrench neo colonialism. If successful, this will result in increased theft of Africa’s resources by the European capitalist class, greater exploitation of the African working masses, and the re-enforcement and strengthening of white supremacy in Africa. On the other hand, Africa faces the very real prospect of a military victory in Libya, the acceleration of a United States of Africa, the seizure of control over Africa’s resources and economy by the working masses under socialism, and the emergence of the African personality on the world stage.

Defend liberated zones

Libya is a “liberated zone” based on Kwame Nkrumah’s criteria from the zonal analysis in his book, “Handbook of Revolutionary Warfare.” Libya therefore represents Africa’s future as a free and liberated continent. Libya secured its independence in 1969 by mass, anti imperialist armed struggle to bring a revolutionary and socialist Jamahiriya ‘authority of the masses’ to power. The puppet neo colonial monarch, King Idriss, was overthrown by force. Economic development, education, health care, housing, infrastructure, and human development were accelerated, with Libya having the highest living standard in Africa. Libya is totally independent of foreign economic interest. It has an independent ideology, outlined in the Green Book, and therefore the Libyan masses and leadership think for themselves.

Libya is leading the movement to establish an African Continental Government, with continental institutions like the African Monetary Fund, African Central Bank to establish a common gold currency, African Investment Bank, and African High Command. These institutions are being established and fueled by Libyan oil revenues to take economic control over Africa by Africans and to defeat American neo colonialism; the last stage of imperialism, once and for all. The starting budget to create this wealth mechanism was $42 billion, from which Libya as Africa's richest state put in $32 billion and other African states $10 billion. The $32 billion along with another estimated $150 billion of Libyan money in banks outside Libya was stolen by the U.S. and E.U. on the pretense that it was "Qaddafi's money". The project to free Africa from the World Bank and IMF is now impeded. Therefore, it is the sacred responsibility of every African to defend Libya to ensure a future of freedom and dignity for the generations of Africa, yet to be born. Now is the time!

Nkrumah-Toure-Qathafi

Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah succeeded in establishing a Pan Africanist and Socialist Republic of Ghana on 1st July 1960 with an 88% vote in a plebiscite and then with an unprecedented 99% vote in a referendum in 1964 (African Elections Database), this mass revolutionary policy was consolidated one year after declaring Ghana a Pan Africanist state with the declaration of the Union of African States on 1st July 1961, with Ghana, Guinea, and Mali creating a nucleus for the formation of a continental government for Africa. Today Qathafi is continuing the process by establishing socialism and taking control of the Libya’s resources, expelling the US, UK, and Italian military bases from Libya, supporting liberation movements in Africa and throughout the world, ceding total power to the masses of the people in 1977 by resigning as Libyan Head of State, and serving as the driving force to change the Organization of African Unity to the African Union as a step towards establishing an All African Union Government.
Imperialist/reactionary alliance is neo-colonialism

The United States CIA, NATO, and internal reactionaries who overthrew the “liberated zone” under Nkrumah’s government on 24 February 1966; “a day of national crime, sin, shame and anarchy,” invaded the “liberated zone” of Guinea in a failed attempt to overthrow Sekou Toure and Kwame Nkrumah as co-Presidents in 1970, with NATO mercenaries. These are essentially the same forces invading Libya today. The difference is only tactical with the Libyan reactionaries mainly consisting of Al Qaeda religious terrorists, the Guinean invasion being spearheaded by Portuguese mercenary terrorists, while the anti Nkrumah reactionaries were National Liberation Movement and Mate Meho tribalist terrorists; all teleguided by US imperialism. This suggests any time an African country chooses Pan Africanism and socialism and works for Africa’s unity and control of its economy as a liberated zone, America will lead a subversive alliance, using violent and illegal means to overthrow the government to impose neo colonialism. They do this in order to maintain their criminal system of robbing Africa at the maximum rate of exploitation; normally applying the method of divide and conquer.

Lessons from the past

In the 1960’s America used the National Liberation Movement (NLM), Mate Meho tribalists (‘I’ve seperated myself’), and National Liberation Council (NLC) reactionary movements to violently overthrow the great Nkrumah after 15 years of resisting US backed subversion, assassination attempts on President Nkrumah, and killing of innocent women and children with bomb throwing at state events. Guinea learned from the lesson of Ghana, trained the population militarily, and fought off the NATO military invasion of 1970, plus many imperialist intrigues to hold power as a liberated zone for 26 years; until the counter revolution after Sekou Toure’s death in 1984. Today America uses the Sanussi monarchists, Al Qaeda terrorists (Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi), CIA agents (Abdoulgassim Khalifa Hafter), and corrupt government Officials (Mustafa Abdul Jalil) to launch a counter revolution in Libya after being a liberated zone for 42 years. Since African liberated zones are lasting longer and becoming stronger, these reactionary elements cannot succeed. Therefore, America had to bring a 28 European nation NATO armed invasion to back up the local reactionaries with constant aerial bombing.

We conclude from these facts that African liberated zones have advanced militarily to the point of being able to challenge American imperialism and that neo colonialism is at its weakest point and it is desperate to hold onto Africa’s resources to delay its inevitable collapse. This becomes crystal clear when we witness a liberated zone of 6 million people in Libya defeating the internal reactionaries and the US/NATO alliance of over 28 European nations and militaries at the same time even during the month of Muslim fasting.

US war is against Africa

When Africans confront the enemy worldwide we will definitely turn the invasion into a victory for Africa and a turning point for Africa’s total liberation and Unity. It’s time to make the move!

The African Union has taken a position for the Libyan governments right to repress the terrorist counter-revoluitonaries of the NTC and against the NATO invasion of Libya in the African Union Peace and Security Council, and as an entire AU continental body; which has maintained its refusal to recognize the National Transitional Council as the government of Libya (despite NATO pressure). The Chairman of the AU Peace and Security Council, Zimbabwe President Mugabe has boldly called NATO a terrorist organization, likened to Al Qaeda. Because of neo colonial influences on most of Africa’s leadership, the US and NATO are disregarding the AU’s position with contempt and utter disrespect. This is why the African masses must confront US neo colonialism without fear. We are calling for a “US/NATO Hands Off Libya” coalition to be formed throughout Africa to defeat the US/NATO invasion of Libya as a step toward uniting Africa with a continental government and a socialist economic system to win economic independence; taking full control over Africa’s resources! Revolutionary Pan Africanist Kwame Ture Stated,

“Africa is our Mother! And if you throw bombs at our Mother, as Africa is our Mother, we will throw bombs at you! ...When you bomb Libya you’re not getting a limited war! This war, like Africa’s children, whom you have scattered all over the world, knows no boundaries! Anywhere there is an African, there will be war for Africa!”

The time is now!

We in the Pan African Improvement Organization are calling on all Africans in Africa to use Positive Action and converge on all US embassies with demonstrations. Africans in Europe use Positive Action and converge on all US embassies with demonstrations. Africans in America use Positive Action and converge on government buildings inside America with demonstrations. All allies of Africa, we are asking you to use Positive Action and converge on all US embassies with demonstrations, not only against the US/NATO bombing of Libya, but also against the illegal US/EU sanctions on Zimbabwe, US illegal military invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and aggressions towards Syria, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and countless other acts of military aggression and crimes against sovereign nations and people of the world. Let us together end US hegemony; BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!
