Luanda — New strategies to increase the cooperation between Angola and the African Union (AU) in the field of human rights were discussed this Friday, in Luanda, during a meeting between a delegation led by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Assunção dos Anjos, and the AU commissioner for human rights, Soyata Maiga.

This was disclosed to the press by the Angolan Foreign minister at the end of the meeting he held with the AU commissioner for Human and People's Rights, Soyata Maiga.
The minister said that Angola wants to interact with the African Union to improve human rights issues, which is also one of the objectives.
Assunção dos Anjos also thanked the commissioner for the compliments and encouragements to the efforts that the Angolan government has made to improve human rights in Angola.
On her turn, Soyata Maiga expressed satisfaction at the meeting and noted that it served to introduce aspects of satisfaction, challenges and concerns, and received from the minister information that further boost the impressions about the performance of the Angolan authorities in this field.
The Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino, the secretaries of state for Cooperation, Exalgina Gamboa, Human Rights, Bento Bembe, and the deputy ministers of Home Affairs, Bamokina Zau, and of Justice, Alves Monteiro, among other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
